Birthday for a Friend

I have a friend who about a year ago, we had some problems. We have recently worked them out and have become quite close. I have really enjoyed her friendship. Her birthday was in November and I decided to make her a stationary set. I got the template off of Papertrey Ink and made her this set, which she really liked. It is always unnerving to give someone something that you have worked hard on and hope that they like it. But I do think she liked it and it made me want to make more. I used the Birds of a Feather stamp set, Kraft Cardstock from Papertrey and various different patterned papers that I had.

Let me know what you think.

I know the pictures aren't the greatest sorry!

Gift for a friend

WOW! It has been awhile, sorry about that, however I know that you are patient and kind when it comes to me not posting new stuff. Life is crazy and with DH being layed off and me working more hours, still going to school, and regular home life, things have just gotten away from me! Any whoozers, here is a gift I made for a friend's birthday. She really liked it and I had a lot of fun making it.

I got the template for the holder from Papertrey Ink I love their stamps and now they have started with these templates that you can purchase and download for like $5 and it comes with a whole bunch of ideas and instructions. Very, very exciting!!!

Anyway here it is.

The stamp set is Birds of a Feather, CS is Kraft from Papertrey, PP is Cosmo Cricket, Ribbon is Papertrey Ink and I colored the 3D flower with my Copics and added a little bit of bling to the center of the flower.

Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I did for my office manager. It was my first try at a gate fold card, I hope I will do better as I do more of these. For the base I used Bazill which I tried stamping the smaller cupcake with the candle all over it in brown. It didn't come out so well as it is a textured paper so I decided to put two panels of brown and then used VersaMark to stamp the same image on it. The big scallop is a Bazill chipboard which I covered with some Creative Memories paper. The main image I stamped and colored in with my Copic and then added some Crystal Effects and a little bit of glitter to make it a little more festive. I then stamped the main image on some PP for the cupcake holder. I also stamped the envelope with the three cupcakes.

U Rock!!

We have a summer intern whose last week is this week. She has been such a help and 'Johnny on the Spot" with the phones. She picked everything up really, really fast and we will miss her when she goes. So I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. I joined a Bella swap over on Splitcoast Stampers called Roackabella. So I was trying to figure out how I would do my card, so this is what I came up with.

It's not quite what I wanted but I think it will do. The base of the card is Aquamist by PTI and the Green and purple is Bazill. I Used the SU Corner rounder to make the scallop and Studio G stamps for the Font. The ribbon on the bottom is Making Memories. I colored Rockabella with copics, and then used Crystal Effects on the guitar. Love the crystal effects. Come to think of if, so does my 10 year old daughter.
She has gotten into making cards as well and she using up all my stuff!! Even though I complain, I enjoy that she likes to be creative. I will show you some of the cards she has made soon.
So what do you think???

Baby Card

My friend had her baby the other day by emergency C-Section, so I thought I would get a card out to her. I have had this tag book for a couple of years now. I used to belong to a mini scrapbook monthly kit, so I decided that I wanted to try something different. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask. I would also love if you left a comment!!!

Paint: Folk Art-Sunflower & Anita's Craft Paint is the green color (I used this color to paint a pumpkin 4 years ago for a class project we were making the pumpkin look like Shrek). I daubed the green color over the yellow with a sea sponge.

Stamps & Ribbon: Papertrey Ink-Birds of a Feather (I have a link in the previous post), Ribbon is Aquamist.

Paper: K&Company & Kraft from Papertrey Ink

I distressed the outside of the tag and then added some of Tim Holtz's Antique Linen to give it that aged vibe. I also used Crystal Effects on the little hatchling to pop him.

I have to say that I really like the font these sentiments are in and they stamped so well!!

New PTI Stamps

Well they aren't New, new, but new to me. I have to say I really like these stamps. I like the images they have and that they come in their own little CD storage case.

The stamps are from Papertrey Ink. I used "Father Knows Best" and "Birds of a Feather". On the card I made for my dad I had seen over at Splitcoast Stampers that someone had used Crystal Effects on the leave of the tree and I loved the way it look and was dying to try it! Here's the details:

Paper: Aqua Mist and I layered Spring Moss on top of that. I stamped the image and sentiment onto their Kraft CS.

Ink: I stamped the image with Chocolate Impress Ink. I wanted the sentiment to stand out so I stamped it in black.

Copics: G28, G24, Y15. On some of the leaves I layered the Y15 and G24

I then used Crystal Effects on the leaves and added some Aquamist Ribbon on top. I hope he likes it.

On my mother's card I used the Birds of a Feather stamps.

Paper: PTI Spring Moss which my ddaughter distressed, she wanted to help. Then I added some of Tim Holtz's Distress Powder and heated it up with my heat gun, I don't know if I like this stuff yet. It definitely gives it a rough texture. I grabbed the wrong pad (Versamark not the embossing pad) so I don't know how much of a difference that would have made. So I won't make up my mind on this until I do it correctly.

The DP is K&Company Classic K Charlotte Pack (I got it half price at AC Moore) I love it when I get a deal. The paper under the ribbon was from a kit club that I used to belong to and I used my SU corner rounder to make the scalloped edge

Ink: I stamped the Bird with Tim Holz's Weathered Wood and the sentiment on the reverse side of the DP and punched it out with a scallop punch I had.

The ribbon and the corner accent was also from one of the kits that I have had for a couple of years that I haven't done anything with.

I don't know if you can tell but when I was putting the card together I accidental put the DP with my stamped image upside down, it is almost covered with the ribbon and scallop, oh well, live and learn. I think my mom will like it anyway. Off to make more cards. I bought some new clear stamps from Inkadoodle that I think I will try out today. They are Cupcakes, seems to be all the rage.

I will post that when I am done!!

Challenges

This card I made for a friend of mine who I have known since high school. We used to get in trouble together a lot! She has had a hard life but is finally getting it together and I am so proud of her. I will send it to her soon, but her birthday is just a couple of days away so I figured I will send the birthday card that I made for the TCPTUES17 challenge. Anyway, the details are as follows.

Stamps: Autumn Leaves

PP is Creative Memories

CS Bazill Yellow

Ink: Stamped the sentiment with Brown Adirondack, used Ranger Antique Linen, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo (these I used to ink the edges of the card.

I punched out the flowers and colored them with copics and then inked those edges as well, the faux stitching was done using a copic marker. I used a pop dot between the flowers to add some dimension and added a MM brad. I think she will enjoy the card!

This card I had made for the TCPTUES16 Challenge, but I didn't link it right, the challenge was to make a card pulling an idea from this paper weather it was colors, shapes etc. I made this card when the girls had some friends over and they were playing cops. I used:
CS: Pink and a Purpley/Red, Brown Bazill
Stamps: Autumn Leaves flower which I cut out
Punch: Fleurs de Le, I ran a copic marker around the outside of them to give them a little punch , Accessories: MM Brads for flower centers, I colored them with a copic and ribbon I had laying around.

A couple of cards

Well I decided to start a blog just for my creations. I figured that some out there may not want to read about my personal life, as I have tried to be as honest and open on there. But you know some people may just want to see the cards that I have made, not read about all my drama (not that I have a lot, but you know what it is like when you are married and have kids, okay maybe some of you don't but some do).

Anyway I just got my first Stampin Up order last night! I of course immediately came home and mounted all my stamps and decided that I would use these stamps in The Cats Pajamas Challenge hosted by Katie so this is what I came up with.

The stamps are Loads of Love and the Loads of Love Accessories, I used Basic Black Ink to stamp the truck as well as More Mustard for the Hearts background. I used two MM brads as hubcaps and the Patterned paper is from a kit that I had gotten a couple of years ago, it never had the name of it on there, same goes for the orange paper and the little bit of ribbon. The pink paper is Bazill, I do know that! I colored the image with the above copics. I had stamped the image twice, and when I colored it initially it was a lot lighter, but when I colored the second one, it came out a lot darker, but I still like it.

The next card is one that I made for a friend who's mother died. I liked the card but before I got to send it out my kids got the back of it wet, so I had to "fix" it, I think I like how it came out better then the original.

The first card was the original, I went over to my SU demo's house and she let me use these the flower stamps, I don't remember from what set they are from, the I colored them with copics and used a Martha Stewart boarder punch (It's a good thing) LOL, and some MM brown ribbon. When it got wet, I cut the front off and placed it on some PP that I had from an old kit and then mounted all of that onto a piece of brown bazill CS. I have another card but it will have to wait for later as I have to get ready for work. Hope you like them!!
