Image Transfer

So in my exploring of various blogs and youtube channels I have found out how to do an image transfer. Last night after studying some and all the little people as well as the big one, went to bed and I had a few moments to myself; I decided to do SOMETHING in my art journal. I had no idea as to what exactly I would do, but I did want to try an image transfer. So I looked through a magazine that I swiped from my doctors office (shhhhh don't tell anyone) and I flipped through and I saw image of the trees first. So I cut it out and tried the transfer and it came out pretty good! I am not sure what my fascination is with trees, but I love em! Then cam the image of the beach with that big rock, then the bamboo on the side, then the house on the tome and those branches on the right.

I had soooo much fun and success in doing those, I could see me doing a whole journal in that way. I wonder what that would be like.....I just might have to try it and now I know how some people could have so many different journals going at once.

Enjoying the Journey

I have been enjoying my new endeavor...Art Journaling, however I don't know if this is where I will stop for good, or if this is just a part of the journey. I have found that I enjoy working with paper, stamps, paint, ink.....so I am not sure where my area of art is going to be. I think that many artists dabble in many mediums, it keeps things interesting.

This spread I made about some friends who have been married forever and seem to be heading down the road to divorce. Its so sad to think that even after 20 years, you can still get a divorce. I mean I would think you have made it!

I see that the date stamp on the picture says 1/15/2010.....but that is wrong. Will have to fix that! I think you will be seeing more of this and maybe a little less of card making on my blog! But that is okay, cause I am enjoying the journey!!!

A new endevor

Life has been busy for me, with my job, the kids, the hubby, not to mention me going to school. However, all seems to be going pretty well right now. I have found that I have to allow for some creative time for myself or I start to become resentful and angry. The last couple of times that I have sat down to make a card, nothing seemed to come out the way I wanted it.

So I started to look at youtube to see different kinds of techniques and I stumbled on Art Journaling. Now I have seen this before and I REALLY liked the idea. I have all the Studio Paints, Stickles, Tim Holtz alcohol ink refillers, so I figured I would do something different. I had an old spiral bound scrapbook that I had gotten at Micheals or someplace like that, so I gesso-ed the page and started creating. I have to say it was a LOT of fun!!! Here's the end result.
I have really enjoyed getting all kinds of paint and paper and using some of my old scrapbooking supplies. It was just so much fun to let my creative mind wander. What freedom it was. So I think that this is where my creative outlet will be. I have seen some beautiful Art Journal's out there. I can't draw, but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that you create and enjoy!

Sorry it has been so long!

It has been quite some time since I have posted anything. Life has gotten busy around here. I am officially a nursing student so I have had a ton of reading to do and studying. I am taking my classes on line at the local college here, not quite sure if that is a good thing or a bad one. I guess we will see by the first test!

I have found that I learn pretty well with flash cards. I have kept all of my flashcards from other classes. One day while I was reading my 250 pages, and taking notes, I decided to take a break and do something creative. I mean we can't be all work and no play right?! So I decided to make a cover for my flash cards and this is what I came up with.

As a side note: I realized after the first week of class when I had a stack of cards that were like two inches thick, that I wouldn't be doing flashcards for everything! But I love how this came out and will use it for those concepts or ideas that I just can't seem to get.

Ingredients:

Tim Holtz's Grungeboard & Distress Ink-Lipstick, Spellbinder's Impressabilities, PTI Card stock, Coordination Card stock, Stamper's Anonymous Stamps, Glimmer Mist, Embossing Powder, Making Memories Rub On's

Happy Birthday

I made this card a while ago. It was a download from Becky Oehlers and she subsequently came out with a stamp set with these images as well. I think they are just so stinkin cute!

I colored it with Prisma pencils and really love the way it looks! How 'bout you?

Notebook for Me!!!

It has been a while since my last post, but I have been working on something. I bought a notebook at Micheals for a dollar and I wanted to alter it for myself. The last couple I made (actually the first two) I gave to my girls. You can see them Here

I recently have gotten the Tattered Flowers Die, from Tim Holtz and I have had some Grungeboard sheets forever!!! I have seen some people make the flower and I wanted to give it a go. I made it and I really do like how it came out but I think it was to bulky to go on the cover of the book. So, I will put that one on another project. I already have an idea what I will use it on. I'll post a pic once I am done, in the meanitme, I went ahead and made two flowers out of paper that I stamped and embosssed.

I am excited about how this came out, I sewed on this project, a firt time thing for me. I do not have a sewing machine, so every stitch is hand stitched not to mention poking all the holes! HA HA. I am gonna use this for a place to keep my ideas about being creative. Weather that means a Card sketch, an interesting color combo, a project that I want to try. Who knows when I will be able to craft as I just recieved my letter inviting me to start the nursing program in the Fall. I hope that I will continue to find time to stamp and be creative while I am learning!

PTI Posse Petite Challenge #2

Well this is the second time I am writing this post, I accidentaly posted this to the actuall Posse Blog (insert red face here).

I started this card before I went on vacation and I didn't even try to find a different kind of fold type of card since I knew time would be hard for me! But I am happy in the end on how this came out. One of my favorite things is how I stamped the birds with VersaMark and then brushed on Ranger's Perfect Pearls in Green Patina.

I used alot of different products on this card. Tim Holtz stamps and inks, Memory Box paper, Colorbox Chalk Ink. If you have any questions just ask, and let me know what you think!

Thanks for the memories!

Well I thought that I would have m y Papertrey Posse challenge done by now, but I haven't been able to work on it the last couple of days. Getting ready for our camping trip has taken all my time. But I found this card that I hadn't posted yet, so I thought I would post it on my blog.

I made this card for a co-worker of my hubby's. He had let us use a comp room at the Showboat for a weekend. We had a great time and I just wanted to show some appreciation.

Sympathy Cards

Well for whatever reason, these uploaded in the opposite sequence I wanted them too, but I am having difficulty with Blogger so we are going to go with this! LOL

Unfortunately, I have had cause to use these cards. I was thinking the other day that I needed to make some, because let's face it, I am getting older and so are the people around me and in the last few years I have many around me die. You know friends, fathers, grandmothers, just the other day a co-worker of my husbands, died of a heart attack at 42!!!! Crazy right?! Anyway on to lovelier thoughts.

This is the first card I made, I like how the second one came out better, but I do like the tone on tone stamped over the sentiment on the inside of the first one.
This next one is the inside of the second card.

I never can seem to make the same card twice, there's just something inside me that refuses! LOL, what it really is, I see the flaws and want to make something better. That is why alot of the first cards don't get sent out unless an occasion comes up and I don't have time to make something.

Stamps: Life, Turning A New Leaf, BB: Diamonds, My Sediments Exactly: we're with you
Paper: CS: PTI Spring Moss, DP: Bitty Boxes, Sweet Blush

PTI Posse Color Challenge

Well, I finally got this challenge done and a challenge it was for me. I am still not completely happy with how this came out, but oh well, live and learn right?! The challenge was to use Summer Sunrise (which I don't have), Terracotta Tile, and Enchanted Evening (I don't have this either). I used the colors closest to them and this is what I came up with. I finally got my PTI Anniversary stamp, so I used that too.

Papertrey Posse Challenge #1

So I finally realized that I took a picture of the challenge card and it already went to a little girl for her birthday! DUH!!! But here it is. I originally got this stamp for my daughter for school. She was doing an oral book report on Alice and Wonderland and her a couple of other girls had to be a character in the book and she was the Red Queen.

The card base is craft with Sweet Blush underneath it with some Cream Card stock stamped with Polka Dot Basics I (one of my all time fav's) with the circle being cut out of Bazill CS with the Impressabilities by Spellbinders, found it at my local Michael's. Couldn't believe it. I colored the crown with Copic markers and the sentiment was stamped using Color Box Chalk Ink Dark Brown. I inked the edges of the sentiment with Tim Holt'z Pink Lipstick.

I really like how it came out. Hope you do too!

Recycling, it's a good thing....

Well, it has been a few days since I have posted anything but I have been working!!! I finished my card for the Papertrey Posse monthly challenge and I like how it came out. But I can't post that until the 15th! So I started working on something to keep the cards that I have already made and are just waiting for the right occasion to send one.

Now I am into recycling and saving the planet, so I decided to re-use the boxes the the PTI stamps come in, you know the ones I am talking about, the clear plastic ones. I cut them down and then made a cover for different categories. The one I have finished and that I am showing today is for "Thinking of You" and "Thank You". I cut out a flower using the Beautiful Blooms die cut in tissue paper. I have been seeing a lot of these flowers made all over and thought I would give it a try.

Ingredients:

CS: PTI Scarlet Jewel Ink: Tim Holtz-Orange Marmalade, Fired Brick Rub Ons from Making Memories Flourish-Tim Holtz Grungeboard Stamp: Savvystamps-Lg Reverse Dots

Hope you like it! I sure do, off to make some more!!!

Baby Bunny

Well I have never created a card for a new baby, maybe because I haven't had cause for one, and I still don't. The doctor that I worked for has just had their first grandchild and I did want to make a card for him and his wife. She used to work with me in the office, but has been gone for a couple of years and now is taking care of the baby while mom and dad work during the week. I have to say hat I am quite jealous only because I wish that my parents were closer than 2000 miles away. I know that Dale is enjoying having a baby girl to ote on and buy for.

Anyway, here is the card that I made, I figured I would make two one to have on hand if the need arises or to possibly put in my stash for when I start my Etsy shop.
I really do like how they came out all sparkely, feminine but not over the top. At least in my opinion. LOL

Flowers, flowers, love the flowers

I have to say that Beautiful Blooms II is becoming a fast favorite of mine. I have decided that I am going to make two set of cards with this stamp set, one I am going to keep and the other I am going to try and sell in an Etsy shop that I haven't set up yet. I have to make some money so I can buy more stamps!!!! LOL It's funny how you go through periods of time where you want to stamp and others you just can't seem to get it going. This past weekend all I wanted to to do was sit and stamp.
On to the card! All products are PTI unless otherwise noted.
Stamp: BB-Polka Dots, Beautiful Blooms II and sentiment is from Faux Ribbon
CS: Sweet Blush and Aqua Mist, Cream
Ink: Sweet Blush, Cat's Eye Chalk Ink- Ice Blue, Aquamarine, Creamy Brown, and Charcoal
Ribbon: ???? Mini Brads
Let me know what you think! The picture isn't the best, but until I find my camera have to use my phone! UGH!!!

Sister In Law's B-day

On Saturday was my SIL Birthday. We celebrated last weekend since we were already up there visiting Mommie. I usually try to make the gifts that I give her but this year she just got a card with some cash in it so she could buy what she wanted herself!!!

I felt rushed in making this card (I always seem to wait till the 11th hour), but I love how I colored the flower with the Prisma Pencils!!! It's not the best light for it either.

Mommie's Mother's Day Card

I know it isn't the best picture, but I really do like the way this card came out. I used mostly PTI products (absolutely love PTI).

I had a hard time putting this together, but think it came out pretty well, and she seemed to like the card as too.

Mother's day is one of those holidays I really enjoy. I love the fact that my family takes me out for lunch/dinner (but we usually try to do this on Sat. instead of Sunday, the crowds are just too much) and we usually see my MIL and my SIL and treat them as well. This year my darling man bought all of us ladies wrist corsages (how old fashioned), loved it!!! Then after lunch we took my MIL home and sat outside in the gazebo just chatting. It was a lovely day. Now onto the details of the card.

CS: PTI Aqua Mist, Stampers Select White
Pattern Paper: PTI Pretty Pastels, My Minds Eye-Home
Stamps: PTI Delightful Dahlia, Beautiful Blooms II, Turning a New Leaf
Punch: Fiskers Border Punch

Smell the Flower

I saw this card here and loved it! So I decided to try and make it. I don't think that I did it justice but will try again sometime. I am enjoying being able to craft a little more these days. The reason being is I took this semester off except for the CNA class. This class is the last one I need before the actual nursing classes.
Anyway I hope you enjoy the card.

Autumn Abundance

Hello again! I am trying to post more often and now that I have found away of getting around not finding my digital camera, you should see me posting more often. Today's cards is one of my favorites. When I saw this set, I just instantly fell in love with it. I love the Fall season all the colors and the chilly, crisp nights! Makes me wish I had a fireplace in my house!

I colored the image with my Copics, I don't remember the colors at this point and cut the image out with my Nestibilities. My Cardstock was Bazill with the Designer paper being Memory Box, I also added on some lace that I picked up at a garage sale. The sentiment is also PTI but the little banner was from a Martha Stewart stamp set that I purchased at Michael's
Thanks for looking!!!

Notebook

I know it has been awhile since I have last posted, but I put my camera away somewhere safe and I can't find it! I am sure I am not the only one that has done this, so I have had to find another way to upload my photo's. So what I have done is uploaded them to Facebook then have saved the pictures and I am trying to upload them to my blog.

Here's hoping it works! I visit several blogs and on one I noticed that she often altered notebooks and I thought I would give it a try. So I did 2 of them. One I put the cover on wrong, but by then it's to late, so the second one was the way it was supposed to be! Live and learn. I really liked how they came out and gave each of the girls one. I see Sarah using hers, but not Faith...hmmmm. Anywho, here they are. Was thinking of making a few more and trying to sell them for like $8-$10 a piece, what do you think?

The other one I made was done in pink.

Cardstock is Papertrey Ink
