So in my exploring of various blogs and youtube channels I have found out how to do an image transfer. Last night after studying some and all the little people as well as the big one, went to bed and I had a few moments to myself; I decided to do SOMETHING in my art journal. I had no idea as to what exactly I would do, but I did want to try an image transfer. So I looked through a magazine that I swiped from my doctors office (shhhhh don't tell anyone) and I flipped through and I saw image of the trees first. So I cut it out and tried the transfer and it came out pretty good! I am not sure what my fascination is with trees, but I love em! Then cam the image of the beach with that big rock, then the bamboo on the side, then the house on the tome and those branches on the right.
I had soooo much fun and success in doing those, I could see me doing a whole journal in that way. I wonder what that would be like.....I just might have to try it and now I know how some people could have so many different journals going at once.

Enjoying the Journey
I have been enjoying my new endeavor...Art Journaling, however I don't know if this is where I will stop for good, or if this is just a part of the journey. I have found that I enjoy working with paper, stamps, paint, ink.....so I am not sure where my area of art is going to be. I think that many artists dabble in many mediums, it keeps things interesting.
This spread I made about some friends who have been married forever and seem to be heading down the road to divorce. Its so sad to think that even after 20 years, you can still get a divorce. I mean I would think you have made it!
I see that the date stamp on the picture says 1/15/2010.....but that is wrong. Will have to fix that! I think you will be seeing more of this and maybe a little less of card making on my blog! But that is okay, cause I am enjoying the journey!!!

A new endevor
Life has been busy for me, with my job, the kids, the hubby, not to mention me going to school. However, all seems to be going pretty well right now. I have found that I have to allow for some creative time for myself or I start to become resentful and angry. The last couple of times that I have sat down to make a card, nothing seemed to come out the way I wanted it.
So I started to look at youtube to see different kinds of techniques and I stumbled on Art Journaling. Now I have seen this before and I REALLY liked the idea. I have all the Studio Paints, Stickles, Tim Holtz alcohol ink refillers, so I figured I would do something different. I had an old spiral bound scrapbook that I had gotten at Micheals or someplace like that, so I gesso-ed the page and started creating. I have to say it was a LOT of fun!!! Here's the end result.
I have really enjoyed getting all kinds of paint and paper and using some of my old scrapbooking supplies. It was just so much fun to let my creative mind wander. What freedom it was. So I think that this is where my creative outlet will be. I have seen some beautiful Art Journal's out there. I can't draw, but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that you create and enjoy!

Sorry it has been so long!
It has been quite some time since I have posted anything. Life has gotten busy around here. I am officially a nursing student so I have had a ton of reading to do and studying. I am taking my classes on line at the local college here, not quite sure if that is a good thing or a bad one. I guess we will see by the first test!
I have found that I learn pretty well with flash cards. I have kept all of my flashcards from other classes. One day while I was reading my 250 pages, and taking notes, I decided to take a break and do something creative. I mean we can't be all work and no play right?! So I decided to make a cover for my flash cards and this is what I came up with.

As a side note: I realized after the first week of class when I had a stack of cards that were like two inches thick, that I wouldn't be doing flashcards for everything! But I love how this came out and will use it for those concepts or ideas that I just can't seem to get.

Happy Birthday
I made this card a while ago. It was a download from Becky Oehlers and she subsequently came out with a stamp set with these images as well. I think they are just so stinkin cute!
I colored it with Prisma pencils and really love the way it looks! How 'bout you?

Notebook for Me!!!
It has been a while since my last post, but I have been working on something. I bought a notebook at Micheals for a dollar and I wanted to alter it for myself. The last couple I made (actually the first two) I gave to my girls. You can see them Here
I recently have gotten the Tattered Flowers Die, from Tim Holtz and I have had some Grungeboard sheets forever!!! I have seen some people make the flower and I wanted to give it a go. I made it and I really do like how it came out but I think it was to bulky to go on the cover of the book. So, I will put that one on another project. I already have an idea what I will use it on. I'll post a pic once I am done, in the meanitme, I went ahead and made two flowers out of paper that I stamped and embosssed.
I am excited about how this came out, I sewed on this project, a firt time thing for me. I do not have a sewing machine, so every stitch is hand stitched not to mention poking all the holes! HA HA. I am gonna use this for a place to keep my ideas about being creative. Weather that means a Card sketch, an interesting color combo, a project that I want to try. Who knows when I will be able to craft as I just recieved my letter inviting me to start the nursing program in the Fall. I hope that I will continue to find time to stamp and be creative while I am learning!
